The Border

From 2009 until 2015, Sara lived on the Thailand-Myanmar border where she worked with refugees and migrants from Myanmar. Her artwork is informed by the details of everyday life, the whimsy and humor of her young students, and the confluence of Thai, Burmese, and Western cultures.

The Interlude

In late 2015, Sara moved to northern Cambodia. Her artwork is informed by themes of transition that epitomized her own life, the lives of the families with whom she worked, and Cambodia itself.

The Life Cycle

In late 2017, Sara moved back to The States, the country where she was born and raised, and suffered a family tragedy. Her artwork is informed by the pain of loss and the effort of recovery.
